SavvyShunt Setup Guide

SavvyShunt is an add-on to our existing control panels and the technology is powered by BatMon. Designed to be plug and play with minimal setup. Please follow the instructions below to install and configure SavvyShunt to work with your control panel.

Connectivity and Comptable Devices

Whats in the box?

As we try to keep our device as simple as possible, the only thing in the box is your SavvyShunt shunt. 

Wiring

Wiring up our device couldn't be simpler. The module needs only a 12/24v power supply and to be connected inline to your negative feed on your battery. Please follow the instructions below to connect the module:

30A Model


300A or 500A Models

Please Note: The only device that should be connected to the negative of the battery is the Shunt, all loads and chargers should be connected to the load side of the shunt. 

Failure to connect this correctly will result in an incorrect reading and may damage the Shunt.

Linking to your display

To connect to SavvyShunt via Bluetooth using your SavvyVan display, please navigate to Settings > Enter your passcode > Bluetooth Devices > Scan for devices. 

Your SavvyVan unit will search for nearby Bluetooth devices, please select the Green + next to  'BK-Batmon' as shown below


Please wait while your device connects, once connected the Bluetooth symbol next to BK-BatMon will turn Blue. Once connected, please click the setting icon. (Alternatively, to reach the battery settings, you can navigate to Settngs > Battery Options)

Within Battery Options page, you are able to choose which device you would like to monitor your battery. Please select 'SavvyShunt'.

Capacity: Enter your usable battery capacity, recommended values (% of total capacity):

Click 'Reset Offset'. This will set the current reading to 100% full. This valve is dynamic and will automatically adjust itself as your battery charges. 

Using the SavvyShunt

Once configured, you will then see your battery level on the main screen. This will show your approximate % Charge, Live Current data and Direction of Current.

Clicking on the Battery icon will take you to the battery Management page where you are able to see additional information such as:
